Barbara Gordon

Barbara Lee Gordon, 86, of Hot Springs Village, AR passed away peacefully March 10, 2019. She was born on December 31, 1932 in Boscobel, Wisconsin to the late Leonard and Velma (Hipenbecker) Brewer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Charles (Chuck) Gordon; siblings Paul (Mary) Brewer; Berk (Susie) Brewer; Dale (Dorothy) Gordon and companion of many years Carl Adams.

Barbara came to the village in 1990 when Chuck retired and they built a home on Lake Coronado. It was there they made many friends and enjoyed all the Village had to offer. Barbara was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village where she proudly served as a Stephen Minister, member of the Shepherd Group and sang in the choir. She enjoyed square dancing, the Shore-liners Club, entertaining at her home on the lake and being with friends and family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jeff Gordon of Asheville, NC; Tracy (Michael) Vickery of Katy, TX; Brian (Aimee) Gordon of Austin, TX ; grandchildren, Lauren (Sherman) Tello of Katy, TX; Olivia (Brody) Whitley of San Antonio, TX;  Luke, Mia and Cole Gordon; great-granddaughters Ava and Aubree Lee Tello and Rusty her beloved doggy.

Barbara was a breast cancer survivor for 16 years. She fought her cancer valiantly to the end with courage and grace. She spent the last 21 months of her life at Mt. Carmel Community at the Village. Her family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the staff. Their concern and loving care for her was unceasing and will always be remembered.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March 24, 2019 at Mt. Carmel followed by a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m. on April 13, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church with Reverend Kurt Kovanen officiating.
